Here is a small tidbit..
I had the previlige to meet Mr.Krishna Bharat (The inventor of the Hill Top Algorithm on which Google works) when he came to my college last year. While we were having a light chitchat we asked him why this particular thing occurs (The one where George Bush's page comes out). He told us that it wasnt deliberate and the algorithm worked as it was and it was a sheer coincidence that this happened. But later we told him that the word "failure" doesnt actually turn up anywhere on that webpage. I am serious, check the html code for that webpage. The word failute doesnt exist on that page. When he heard that, he just smiled at us and winked.
:)
Long live Google.

The algorithm doesnt just work on metadata and page search. It combines the crawler indices as well. This has been there for more than a year. Just a simple manipulation of the Result Page Rank that google gives to prioritise results. Google admits the issue, but says it wont do anything abt it :)
After all, which program doesnt have bug?
